Haritaki (Terminalia chebula) is a tree also known as almond chebula. It grows in southern Asia and Sri Lanka. Ayurvedic medicine uses the small, green fruits of this tree, which in India are referred to as the “fruit of long life.”
It plays a key role in Tibetan medicine, where it is called the “king of medicine” and is found in almost all Tibetan herbal formulas.
Haritaki is one of the three ingredients in the triphala blend.
